The University College of Arts and Sciences and the Alumni Association invite you to a special talk and reception at the Seattle Art Museum celebrating Jacob Lawrence, beloved artist and UW Professor Emeritus, on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Before enjoying the reception and exhibit, Jacob Lawrence: The Migration Series, hear a compelling exploration of the themes, context, and insights behind the this epic series from scholars and contemporaries deeply acquainted with the man and his work.

Reception & Viewing of Exhibit: 7:15 p.m.

Led by Patti Junker, Ann M. Barwick Curator of American Art at the SAM, speakers for the talk will include: Tim Bond, School of Drama alumnus; Professor Stewart Tolnay, Department of Sociology; and Professor Emeritus Michael Spafford, School of Art + Art History + Design.
